+1 to everything mentioned. The 1800s don't mention any oil change in manual till 4k miles. The 1300s want you in for that 600 mile service. Go till 600 miles, do your own dino oil change with filter. Hit 4k and go synthetic. Don't want to mention any brands of the stuff. Lots and lots and lots of oil/filter stuff here.

I installed a new filter and 3.8 quarts of 10w-30 Valvoline SJ rated oil. I have since read several articles and chats that state the additives in 10-w30 (energy conserving) oil can cause clutch slippage and damage.This is my first attempt to change the oil in my Honda VTX 1800C final drive.There are not many tricks about it and all the procedure is very simple.Enjoy;)S...This is a walk-through for changing the final drive oil on the VTX.
